Location: Galway, Ireland (Hybrid - 2 to 3 days per week in the Galway office)
Role: The Conversational AI group is seeking a Software Engineer AI/ML to join the team and drive the development of cutting-edge conversational AI solutions with a focus on Generative AI systems at global scale (reaching over 7,500 organizations in 100+ countries). In this role, you will design, build, and optimize AI-driven systems that interact intelligently and autonomously with users and other systems. You will work alongside senior software and AI/ML engineers, UX designers, and product teams supporting each other to bring state-of-the-art AI technologies to production. What You Will Do- Design, develop, and maintain agentic AI systems that power conversational interfaces.
- Assist in designing and implementing scalable AI pipelines for real-time and asynchronous interactions.
- Contribute to the development of LLM-powered agents capable of reasoning, decision-making, and task execution.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and unit tests.
- Work with APIs and microservices to integrate AI-driven solutions as part of our wider platform.
- Optimize AI models and workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, data scientists, and senior engineers to bring innovative AI solutions to production.
- Learn about the latest advancements in conversational AI, agentic AI, and NLP.
- Ideally, a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related disciplines. This is not a hard requirement as we recognise diverse paths into software careers.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python with experience in backend development.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, system architecture, and distributed computing.
- Experience working with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of API development and microservice architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience with real-time AI-driven applications (e.g., chatbots, voice assistants, AI copilots).
- Understanding of machine learning model deployment and optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Mistral), fine-tuning, and prompt engineering.
- Experience with AI agent frameworks (e.g., Bedrock, LangChain, AutoGPT, OpenAI Function Calling).
- Contributions to open-source AI projects, research publications, or patents in AI/ML.
