Software Engineer

Job Description Location: Newcastle - Hybrid - 3 days a week in the office.

Job Description: As a Software Engineer at Sage, you will design, develop, and deliver high-quality software, systems, and services. You will share your technical knowledge and contribute to business processes within your area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality software, including requirements, design, code, and documentation.
2. Participate in quality activities such as peer reviews of estimates, designs, and code.
3. Resolve defects and bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
4. Collaborate effectively with team members to meet commitments.
5. Support team success and foster positive team dynamics.
6. Work cross-functionally with product management, QA/XD, and other teams to drive results.
7. Participate in all project lifecycle phases.
8. Maintain documentation describing logic, coding/configuration, testing, and changes.
9. Continuously improve existing products, systems, and services.
10. Ensure tasks meet quality standards.
11. Update knowledge by studying new development tools and techniques.
12. Provide third-tier support and expertise for your area.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Node.js and React; experience with .Net is a plus.
• Experience with AWS; Azure experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Experience with Agile, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
