Software Engineer - Industrial Data Platform

Your Responsabilities

We are looking for a Software Engineer - Industrial Data Platform to evolve the industrial data platform, strengthening software engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability, security).

You will be responsible for implementing and mentoring modern development and deployment practices (GitHub Actions, FastAPI, Docker, AWS), helping prepare the infrastructure for future AI and industrial data analytics projects.

• Develop and maintain Python microservices (FastAPI/asyncio) for industrial data ingestion and exposure;
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, linting, and versioned releases;
• Implement observability practices (metrics, logs, alerts) and ensure production SLOs;
• Automate deployments and infrastructure management using Docker/Kubernetes and AWS;
• Ensure pipeline and data access security (tokens, authentication, permissions);
• Mentor team members on version control, testing, and CI/CD best practices;

Your Profile

• Strong experience with Python 3.9+ (FastAPI, asyncio, uvicorn, paho-mqtt);
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions or Jenkins);
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes);
• Experience with relational and time-series databases (PostgreSQL, Timescale);
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible is a plus;
• Experience with Event Messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, WebSockets) is a plus;
• Experience integrating OT systems (MQTT, Sparkplug B, Ignition) is a plus;
• Experience with Agile methodologies;
• Experience using AI tools in daily workflows (automation, agents, etc.) is a plus;
• Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, structured logging) is a plus;
• Experience with AWS (deployment, networking, basic security);
• Fluent in English;
• Must be in Lisbon (hybrid work).
