Key Responsibilities
  • Build, develop, and maintain kernel security features for PlayStation systems.
  • Collaborate with multi functional teams to successfully implement security improvements.
  • Debug and resolve sophisticated security issues within the kernel.
  • Supervise and analyze security threats to determine the best course of action.
  • Assist with open source projects associated with kernel security.
  • Maintain code quality through meticulous testing and code reviews.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in the C programming language; experience with C++ is a plus.
  • Experience with kernel development; freeBSD knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of kernel security concepts and practices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
  • Excellent debugging skills and problem solving abilities.
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a cooperative group.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems and low level programming.
  • Experience contributing to widely recognized open source projects.
  • Effective communication abilities and the capability to clearly explain intricate technical ideas.
  • A strong passion for gaming and knowledge of the gaming industry.
Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below: €69.500-€104.300 EUR.

Base pay may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This role is eligible for SIE's top tier benefits package, including paid time off, a wellness program, and employee discounts for Sony products. It may also be eligible for a bonus package.
