Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying large-scale data mining solutions, distributed machine learning systems, and modern client experiences across webpages, mobile applications, and other shopping mediums. You will collaborate with software engineers, applied machine learning scientists, product managers, user interface designers, and others to influence strategy and define the team's roadmap. You will also drive system architecture, promote best practices, and mentor junior engineers.

A successful candidate will have experience in engineering large-scale software systems, strong technical skills, excellent communication, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

The Japan Marketing Automation team leverages Amazon's solutions in large-scale language models to process shopping data and build highly available distributed systems for optimal shopping experiences. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture (patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
