The role is a 2-year fixed-term contract.

GTTS develops products that help Amazon operate the world's largest transportation network, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and machine learning on AWS. We seek passionate individuals who love technology, solving customer problems, and delivering high-quality work for critical systems at Amazon.

In GTTS, we embody a scale-up culture while taking responsibility for building and operating products at Amazon's scale and importance. We follow agile practices, work closely with customers, embrace fast failure, and continuously innovate. We proactively phase out legacy systems to reduce technical debt and regularly develop new greenfield products.

As an SDE in GTTS, you will tackle challenging engineering problems, process large datasets, and build performant, scalable, and robust products supporting critical transportation processes. You will develop web applications that delight users and complex data pipelines for data processing. We encourage exploring new technologies and applying them to customer challenges. Our products aim to solve customer problems and have a direct financial impact on the transportation network, always starting from the customer perspective.

You will provide technical leadership, help establish standards, and drive Amazon's technical architecture, practices, and methodologies. You will think globally when designing systems, ensuring they are high-performing and interoperable. You will be hands-on, producing detailed technical work and high-level designs.

During on-call weeks, you will support our products directly if critical issues arise.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Work with AWS technologies such as Lambda, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, EMR
  2. Build customer-facing applications and APIs
  3. Develop data pipelines using Spark + Scala processing terabytes of data daily
  4. Collaborate with customers to understand business needs for new features
  5. Participate in design reviews and consult with peers
  6. Support operational aspects of our products through on-call rotations
  7. Drive reliability and process improvements
  8. Optimize pipeline performance using metrics
  9. Engage in hackathons to innovate within GTTS

About the team

GTTS builds products enabling network managers and operators to run the world's largest transportation network, optimizing for KPIs like cost, carbon, and speed. Our solutions include network topology design, automatic capacity management, and risk mitigation such as weather disruptions. We work closely with customers in transport operations, finance, and customer fulfillment, with development teams based in Luxembourg and London.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or relevant software development experience
  • Professional experience in software development (non-internship)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language
