Software Data Engineer - Utrecht - ALTEN Netherlands

The Position

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Software Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to ongoing client projects in Utrecht.

As a Software Data Engineer, your main tasks will include:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Create and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation templates
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipelines
• Automate tasks and deployments using Bash scripting
• Design and implement robust testing strategies using Pytest
• Collaborate with data teams to support data processing, pipelines, and analytics workflows
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backend systems and cloud infrastructure
• Contribute to architectural decisions that impact performance, scalability, and reliability

Your Profile

• You completed a bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• You speak English fluently
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience developing APIs using FastAPI
• Solid experience with AWS services and CloudFormation
• Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines or similar CI/CD tools
• Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation tasks
• Hands-on experience with Pytest or other Python testing frameworks
• Understanding of software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation
• Experience or interest in data engineering or working with data-driven systems
