What you will do
  • Take day to day operational and financial responsibility for designated service elements, providing leadership and management to staff.
  • Ensure children's needs are assessed holistically and timely, with services provided to meet those needs appropriately.
  • Effectively manage a team of Social Workers in the intervention team, covering CP, CIN, and Court Work, ensuring complex issues are creatively resolved.
  • Develop specialist knowledge in the field, acting as a resource to peers and senior colleagues.
  • Work closely with the Heads of Service and Assistant Director to meet operational and strategic developmental demands.
  • Receive, assess, allocate, and review cases, maintaining a close eye on all developments within the team.
  • Assess risks and service levels, prioritising work to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Provide professional supervision to team members, offering guidance and support where needed.
  • Develop effective working relationships with statutory and independent sector agencies, providing advice and influence as appropriate.
