Your new company
We are very proud to work with this UK-based sector leader who provides services to local authorities, housing associations and public spaces with the focus on improving living spaces and the well-being of their communities. They have won a new contract with their Peterborough client, so that means they need to expand their team by hiring a new Social Value Officer.

Your new role
Developing and Implementing Social Value Strategies:you will develop and implement strategies to ensure that contracts, projects, and investments create positive social, economic, and environmental impact.Guidance and Training:you will develop and deliver guidance and training to partners on best practices in benefits realisation and social value, ensuring that everyone understands how to maximise positive impact.Monitoring and Measuring Social Value:you will track the delivery of social value commitments, ensuring that they are met as outlined in contracts or projects.
This involves collecting and reporting data on social value outcomes, such as job creation, skills training, community engagement, and environmental improvements.Stakeholder Engagement: you will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, training providers, residents, and public sector contacts.Reporting and Communication: you will be responsible for communicating the social value benefits of projects and initiatives, both internally and externally, through reports, training sessions, and other communication channels.Innovation and Creativity: you will be responsible for finding innovative ways to deliver social value and ensure that these initiatives resonate with the community.Risk Management: you'll also be mindful to identify and mitigate potential negative social impacts, ensuring that investments and projects are not only beneficial but also do no harm.Communication: you'll produce reports, newsletters and case studies to share best practices, innovative ideas, good news and successes with your colleagues, clients and service users.

What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a role that has hands-on delivery of social value projects is essential for your application to move forward. Knowledge of social value methodology is something that the hiring manager is particularly looking for and will delve deeper into at your interview, so to start with, we ask that you outline that in your CV/covering letter.
You'll be based in Peterborough, but you'll need a full UK driving licence as you will cover a wide geographical area, covering postcodes from LN to LE to NN to MK.
You'll have great communication skills and be able & confident to work autonomously and deliver social value projects yourself, NOT by using providers.

What you'll get in return
The company has a fantastic benefits plan and, of course, given the nature of the work, there will be tremendously high job satisfaction as you see your plans and strategies implemented and become successful.
One standout aspect of this company is their commitment to mental health and employee well-being. They've signed the Mental Health at Work Commitment, which shows they actively support their staff's mental health through training, resources, and open conversations.Additionally, employee reviews often talk about a positive work culture, with flexibility and a "can-do" attitude being valued. Generally, employees appreciate the autonomy in their roles, while others highlight strong management and trust within teams and, in this job, you'll report to a smashing manager who is pragmatic, funny and supportive.
