The Social Value Delivery Manager is responsible for the hands-on delivery of social value outcomes across a number of contracts in London and the South East. This role plays a key part in ensuring that our company meets and exceeds the social value commitments made to clients, communities, and wider stakeholders.
The role involves driving forward inclusive recruitment, supporting community projects, organising employability programmes, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners. It requires someone confident engaging at all levels, equally capable of speaking at a client board meeting or helping deliver a volunteering project on site.
The postholder will also contribute to the company's national social impact strategy by feeding into data reporting, sharing case studies, and collaborating with the wider Social Value Team.
Key Responsibilities Social Value Delivery & Contract Integration- Lead the operational delivery of social value plans across your allocated contracts, ensuring alignment with client KPIs, local priorities, and corporate ESG objectives.
- Develop tailored delivery plans for each contract in collaboration with clients and account managers.
- Work with contract teams and service leads to integrate social value into everyday operations and contract mobilisation phases.
- Attend and contribute to monthly and quarterly client meetings, providing clear and professional updates on social value activity, performance against targets, and future plans.
- Support bid and tender processes with credible, evidence-backed social value proposals.
- Support with new contract mobilisations to establish early social value gains
- Act as the main point of contact for inclusive recruitment across contracts, working closely with hiring managers to identify upcoming vacancies and workforce needs.
- Build partnerships with Jobcentre Plus, local councils, supported employment services, and community groups to promote job opportunities and ensure access for local residents, underrepresented groups, and those facing barriers to work.
- Coordinate and manage work placements, apprenticeships, and internship opportunities in line with company policy and client requirements.
- Deliver and support job readiness initiatives such as CV writing workshops, interview preparation sessions, mock interviews, and job clubs for targeted groups.
- Monitor employment outcomes and maintain accurate records of local recruitment activity.
- Identify and respond to community needs and opportunities across contract areas.
- Develop and deliver community engagement activities in collaboration with local stakeholders and charities, examples may include food bank support, local school partnerships, environmental clean-up events, or site improvement projects.
- Organise volunteering days for staff, including logistics, risk assessments, stakeholder coordination, and impact evaluation.
- Engage site teams in social value initiatives to build a sense of ownership and local pride in delivery.
- Represent the company at community events, careers fairs, and stakeholder forums.
- Build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, community organisations, education providers, social enterprises, and local authorities.
- Understand the social value drivers of each client and tailor delivery to meet their expectations and procurement frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to promote awareness of social value obligations and opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to contract leads, providing guidance and practical support on social value delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of social value activity and outcomes across all assigned contracts.
- Use recognised measurement frameworks such as TOMs (Themes, Outcomes, Measures) or the Social Value Portal to quantify and report impact.
- Support the creation of regular performance dashboards, case studies, and written reports for internal and client use.
- Produce engaging annual social impact reports summarising key achievements, challenges, and plans.
- Share evidence of good practice and contribute to wider team learning and innovation.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Social Value Team by sharing ideas, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support colleagues across other regions or contracts as needed, providing cover, guidance, or project support.
- Participate in regular team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering social value, community engagement, CSR, or employability programmes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders from local communities to senior clients.
- Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously across different sites.
- Comfortable working in varied environments, both office-based and on-site, and confident adapting to different settings and audiences.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-focused, with strong organisational skills.
- Competent in collecting, analysing, and presenting data relating to social outcomes and community impact.
- Practical, hands-on mindset with a commitment to getting involved in delivery activities.
