Social Impact Coordinator

About the role

The Social Impact Coordinator will support the delivery of social impact activities across the Lower Thames Crossing project, helping to create meaningful and measurable benefits for local people through employment, skills, education, volunteering and community engagement programmes.

You will build strong relationships with stakeholders, support the achievement of social impact targets and contribute to leaving a positive and lasting legacy in the communities surrounding the project.

What you'll be doing

• Support the delivery Social Impact, helping to create a positive and lasting legacy for communities across Thurrock, Havering & Brentwood and the wider project area.
• Work across the project's key social impact priorities, including employment and skills, education, STEM engagement, community investment, volunteering and charitable initiatives.
• Coordinate and promote a programme of social impact activities, ensuring project teams and supply chain partners are aware of upcoming opportunities and achievements.
• Support the collection of evidence and data to demonstrate project performance against contractual commitments and social impact targets.
• Work closely with delivery partners, supply chain organisations, local authorities, schools, colleges, charities and community groups to maximise social impact outcomes.
• Contribute to the delivery of a project wide volunteering programme that encourages workforce and supply chain participation in community initiatives.
• Support the coordination of work experience placements, industry placements, careers events, mentoring opportunities and employability programmes to inspire future talent and create pathways into the construction and infrastructure sectors.
• Help identify and develop innovative social impact opportunities that strengthen community relationships and enhance the project's legacy.

Who we're looking for

• genuine passion for making a difference and supporting local communities.
• Stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with schools, charities, community organisations, local authorities and supply chain partners.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, events and activities simultaneously.
• Experience in supporting planning and delivering community, volunteering, careers, STEM or employability events.
• Experience monitoring, collecting and reporting data against project targets and performance measures.
• Experience working within the construction, infrastructure, engineering or public sector environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of recognised social value measurement frameworks (e.g. National TOMS) would be beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and supply chain partners to deliver shared objectives.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
