We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Social Care Worker to join our team in St Laurence, Lota Park, Glanmire, Cork.

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: Part time, 35 hours per week

Salary Scale: €39,160 to €54,746 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 31/32/34 (depending on experience)

Overview of the Post

To work as part of the team in St Laurence (Adult Residential Services) and to support the Person in Charge in providing a quality service to adults with disabilities availing of services. Assisting Service Owners to plan for and direct their supports to meet their personal goals and to support Service Owners in making connections within their local community.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have

Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

1. Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the role

2. Annual registration

On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.

  • Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans
  • Has experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker
  • Experience of delivering personal care to adults
  • Experience of assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication
  • Experience of engaging in professional supervision
  • Experience of working with adults with disabilities including physical/intellectual/ ASD/behaviours of concern
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in taking leadership in the development of personal plans
  • Experience in responding to complaints
