We are seeking a highly motivated Social Care Worker for the Children's Respite team at Lavanagh House, Currraheen, Cork.

Contract Details

Contract Type: Relief
Contract Hours: Variable Hours
Salary Scale: €39,160 (€19.30 h ) - €54,746 (€26.99 h ) pro rata per annum, subject to LSI and 2026 WRC pay adjustments.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 10.7 % of hours worked.

Overview of the Post

Lavanagh House Children's Respite provides planned short term respite care, day and night, grouping children by age and interest. Staff work in partnership with service users and families in planning, delivering, and evaluating services.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care to children with disabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of personal plans.
  • Act as a key worker, supporting children and families.
  • Administer medication and assist with medical needs.
  • Engage in professional supervision.
  • Respond to complaints and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate within a multi disciplinary team.
  • Lead in the development of personal plans.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Statutory registration on the Social Care Workers Register (CORU).
  • Professional qualifications as required by the Institute.
  • Experience working with children and adults with disabilities, including physical, intellectual, ASD, and behaviors of concern.
  • Experience delivering personal care.
  • Experience administering medication.
  • Experience engaging in professional supervision.
  • Experience responding to complaints.
  • Experience in multi disciplinary teams.
  • Leadership experience in personal plan development.
