Job ID: Amazon UK Services Ltd.

The Environmental Assurance and Protection organization is seeking a talented individual to facilitate high impact energy efficiency initiatives across our EU network of Customer Fulfilment, Sortation Centers, Amazon Logistics sites, and emerging businesses. The ideal candidate will own projects and programs ranging from technical analyses and data collection to regulatory and business driven requirements for best practices in energy efficiency.

This position will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to progress initiatives that re shape our business's energy solutions. You will possess strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsets with proven experience producing high quality work, and will have direct contact with infrastructure business partners and leadership in Energy, Sustainability, Engineering, Operations, Public Policy, and Legal teams.

The successful candidate will know logistics operations and the energy sector, and will have experience delivering technical analysis and solutions, with a genuine passion for sustainability and decarbonisation. Strong communication skills are essential.

We as EAP strive to keep the network moving compliantly, efficiently and sustainably. We work on the most challenging problems, with a multitude of variables impacting our supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll collaborate across the Amazon organisation to deliver the highest standards for safety and compliance while providing optimal operational efficiency at the lowest possible environmental and economic cost. You'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own energy efficiency compliance program and its narrative for EU Operations, and define and coordinate the energy efficiency strategic direction, programs and goals.
  • Own alignment with EU work streams across overlapping functions including Operations, Engineering, Sustainability, Public Policy and Regulatory/ISO.
  • Measure and analyze sites' performance against published requirements in energy policies and procedures. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site and business unit to implement and mitigate all identified deficiencies.
  • Own energy efficiency related regulatory and customer compliance requirements for EU Operations.
  • Participate in the annual data collection and reporting (internal, external) as well as controls (measurements, reviews) on environmentally relevant issues.
  • Manage and coordinate (or participate) in programs/projects/tasks for the continuous development, implementation and maintenance of energy efficiency requirements, best practices, and cost to serve activities for EU Operations.
A day in the life

You will drive goal and regulation based control outcomes and/or risk reduction, informing/helping to establish mechanisms where applicable to bring risk within tolerance levels.

You manage overall schedules for your environmental risk mitigation projects, overcome issues, and keep the scope of effort under control.
