Job Description

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Mechanical Site Supervisor based with in the Southern Water Hampshire Region.

You will report directly to the M & E Manager/ Lead Site Supervisor and your role will supervise and control all mechanical site activities in the most efficient manner, to the specification and within the contract time without risk to the health and safety of all concerned and providing a quality end product, ensuring a Quality installation with all ITP , s completed as the work progresses .

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision of site mechanical installations and testing;
  • Ensure mechanical safety rules are adhered to and supporting documentation is produced in line with CMDP mechanical safety rules;
  • Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners and visitors;
  • Ensure that all relevant construction and safety documents are correctly recorded and reviewed when received and that they are the latest version;
  • Check that all relevant documents such as method statements adequately describe the work to be carried out;
  • Review and comment on Method Statements and Work Instructions as required by the Project Execution Plan;
  • Record the progress of the works;
  • Record all non-conformance and improvement opportunities and agree action with the person in charge of the works;
  • Ensure that quality requirements are maintained in accordance with CMDP, Client and industry standards;
  • Attend site inductions and toolbox talks as required;
  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections on both temporary and permanent equipment.
Knowledge/Experience:Several years experience of working in the Water / Wastewater sector. Understands mechanical and pipework fabrication, erection and testing including pressure and hydrostatic where necessary. Understands and has experience in the use of Isometric, GA and P&ID drawings.Education/QualificationsHNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or recognised apprenticeship with relevant experienceSSSTSCSCSFirst AiderMechanical and Pressure Systems APMPS qualified (desirable)
