Site Operations Manager - New Manufacturing Facility - County Meath
Location: Co. Meath
Salary: €60-70K (DOE) + Private medical & great benefits
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Site Operations Manager to oversee the commissioning and day-to-day operations of a brand-new manufacturing facility in County Meath. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to lead a state-of-the-art production site from project phase through to full-scale operations.
The Opportunity:
This role will be instrumental in ensuring operational readiness during the setup phase, working alongside senior leadership, project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Once the site is live, you will take full ownership of all operational activities, ensuring compliance, safety, quality, and performance targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the on-site commissioning and start-up of a new facility producing animal nutrition products
- Ensure full compliance with group and regulatory standards, including quality, HSE, and industry accreditations
- Support HR in recruiting, onboarding and training the site team
- Oversee operational budgets, cost control, and financial reporting
- Deliver safe, timely and efficient manufacturing output aligned with customer needs
- Provide leadership and mentorship to build a high-performing site culture
- Drive lean principles across the site - including tools such as 5S, SMED, TPM, and Gemba
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic and performance goals
Essential Criteria:
- Recent experience in a similar operational management or site leadership role
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability and a hands-on, practical mindset
- Full UK/Irish driving licence and flexibility to travel when required
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK or Ireland
Desirable Qualifications (not essential):
- Degree in engineering, business or related discipline
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2)
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH)
