Site Manager - Commercial Fit Out

Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Rate: £250 per day
Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm
Start Date: 2nd November
Duration: 9 Weeks

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a commercial refurbishment and fit-out project in Ely. This is a well-organised project with site setup already established, offering the successful candidate the chance to join a live scheme and drive it through to completion.

The project involves the renovation and modernisation of an existing single-storey commercial building, working alongside a demolition contractor and coordinating multiple trades throughout the fit-out programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of site operations
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
• Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring programme milestones are achieved
• Monitoring quality of workmanship across all phases of the project
• Managing site records, inductions and compliance documentation
• Liaising with project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
• Supporting trades on site where required and adopting a proactive, hands-on approach

Scope of Works

The refurbishment programme includes:

• Internal demolition and strip-out coordination
• Installation of stud partition walls
• Suspended ceiling works
• Flooring installation
• New doors and door frames
• General commercial fit-out and refurbishment activities

Candidate Requirements

We're looking for a practical and proactive Site Manager with:

• Previous experience delivering commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and site compliance
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A hands-on attitude with the ability to lead by example
• The ability to maintain a clean, well-managed and productive site environment
• Trade background desirable, particularly joinery/carpentry
• Local or commutable to Ely preferred

Essential Qualifications

• SMSTS
• First Aid at Work
• Asbestos Awareness
• CSCS Card

Black or Gold CSCS cards are advantageous but not essential.
