Job Description
Site Manager - Rail & Infrastructure

Location: West Midlands/Birmingham

Contract Type: Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our Rail & Infrastructure division at Ground Control. You'll lead by example, driving safety, quality, and efficiency across multiple sites while upholding our company values and delivering outstanding results for our clients.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and support Field Teams, Subcontractors, and Direct Labour to deliver works safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Audit and inspect all teams at least every three months, ensuring 100% compliance across all site documentation.
  • Support the Contract Manager to achieve project delivery and gross profit targets.
  • Monitor progress against agreed programmes, addressing any slippage through clear communication and robust action plans.
  • Mentor and upskill operational teams, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with site and office teams, ensuring key business updates and safety messages are understood and acted on.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within rail, infrastructure, or civils environments.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in arboriculture or de-vegetation projects
