We're looking for an ambitious Site Manager required to join a £15m new-build education project in Southampton, which is starting on site later this year. This is one of several schemes for the same local authority client secured on a regional framework agreement.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site-based construction activities, including short-term programming, health and safety, reviewing method statements and risk assessments, calling off materials, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, progress reporting, snagging and handover.

About the Contractor:

This opportunity is with the busy Southampton regional office of a leading Tier 1 national main contractor, which has an annual regional turnover of circa £100m and a proven track record of delivering new-build and refurbishment schemes across the education, defence, local authority, blue-light, commercial, student accommodation, and sport and leisure sectors.

Typical patch covers Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset

Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
  • At least five years' experience as a Site Manager.
  • Strong technical, organisational, people-management and communication skills.
  • A proactive, highly motivated approach.
  • A background in trades, construction management or engineering, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and problem solving abilities, with a positive, 'right first time' approach.
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering projects, with safety, quality, client relationships and supply chain relationships treated as priorities.
  • A background working for a top 20 main contractor would be advantageous.
