Site Manager - Fire Protection

Thorn Baker has teamed up with one of the UK's leading property maintenance and refurbishment groups. A national presence serving sectors such as social housing, defence, hotel and leisure, healthcare, and education, with a turnover of c.£250m and around 1,000 employees, they have grown significantly over the last few years. To support their continued and ambitious growth plans to double in size in the next 4 years, they are seeking a Site Manager to join their team.

Your Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day running of projects including sub-contractors on site
- Reviewing client instructions and schedules with a full understanding of project requirements
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and designs
- Undertaking site inspections to ensure high standards of work and H&S are maintained
- Managing labour and materials on site to meet project deadlines
- Adhering to Health & Safety rules and quality control
- Identifying project variations and communicating with the contracts manager
- Developing excellent relationships with clients and colleagues
- Ensuring all client enquiries/issues are addressed promptly
- Facilitating team meetings on performance, operational delivery, H&S, company updates, and training
- Carrying out inspections of completed works and signing off using app-based systems (e.g., Bolster)
Required Skills:
- Previous experience supervising and managing fire protection projects
- Experience working in occupied environments
- Valid FIRAS Accreditation
- Valid SMSTS certificate
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- Ability to work towards tight deadlines with programming and reporting skills
- Ability to oversee and manage all Health and Safety procedures and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of site procedures and practices
- Effective team and client communication skills
- Good commercial awareness and contract variation management
- Extensive knowledge of passive fire doors/fire stopping
