Job Description
Role Type: Full-time, Site-based Civil Engineer About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join our team for projects in the Cork area. This role is ideal for candidates already based in Cork and looking to develop their career in civil engineering within a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Project Manager and assist in day-to-day contract management.
  • Carry out setting out of works using Total Station and GPS equipment.
  • Conduct regular site surveys and compile As-Built information for valuations and safety files.
  • Maintain accurate site diaries, photographic records, and daily allocation sheets.
  • Liaise with the Estimator to provide measures for valuations and highlight additional works.
  • Review construction drawings and documents for discrepancies; raise RFIs and queries as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Perform quality inspections and maintain records in line with company policy.
  • Implement company HSEQ policies in collaboration with the Safety Officer and Project Manager.
  • Provide clear instructions to site operatives and supervise subcontractors.
  • Oversee and implement traffic management plans.
Qualifications & Training
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Professional registration or membership of a relevant body (desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Civil works experience (pipelines, reinforced concrete works advantageous).
  • Experience in Irish/UK projects preferable but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and problem solving abilities.
