Job Title: Silo Hygiene Operative

Contract: Permanent

Type of Employment: Full time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour

Shift pattern: Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm

Location: McVitie's, 54 Church Street, Carlisle, Cumbria, England, CA2 5TG

Role Responsibilities

• Complete cleaning tasks in line with Cleaning Work Instructions and site procedures
• Perform deep cleans, strip-down cleans and post-production cleaning activities, if required
• Ensure all equipment and work areas are left hygienic, safe and ready for production
• Follow strict food safety, hygiene and contamination control procedures
• Safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment and PPE in accordance with training and COSHH requirements
• Report defects, hazards, contamination risks and equipment damage
• Complete cleaning records and hygiene documentation accurately
• Support audit readiness and maintain high standards across the site
• Work closely with supervisors, production teams and colleagues to achieve operational targets

What we're looking for

• Ability to communicate and read basic English
• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
• Flexible and proactive approach to work
• Open, honest, self-driven, and determined attitude
