Retail Store Manager

Location: Port Talbot Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Contract: Fixed term ending 1 February 2027

Salary: £26,789 - £31,385

Reports to: Area Manager Department: Trading Closing date: 26 July 2026

Responsibilities

• Guide, inspire, and engage a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers.
• Recruit, retain, and develop team members.
• Own the commercial operation of the store, including display, merchandising, stock management and maintaining shop standards.
• Maximise profit through effective cost control, sales and fundraising.
• Provide excellent customer and supporter service and act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK.
• Organise and run creative fundraising events to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, security, administration and HR policies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience managing and inspiring a diverse retail team.
• Ability to work within targets and motivate others to achieve them.
• Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of high street fashion retail.
• Excellent customer service skills and adaptability in a fast moving environment.
• Multi tasking ability and independence.
• Awareness of price, value and worth of items; retail management experience preferred.
