Location: 57 High Street, Newport, TF10 7AU

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including weekend rota.

Salary: £25,302.39 per annum plus reward and benefit scheme.

About the role

As a Shop Manager at Sue Ryder you will lead a volunteer team, drive sales, and support the charity's mission to provide care and support to those facing the end of life or living with grief.

Responsibilities

• Use retail experience to drive business, push sales, and achieve targets.
• Lead your team to deliver great customer service to donors and customers.
• Work with the local community to generate donated stock to drive sales.
• Recruit, train and retain a volunteer team, providing leadership and guidance.
• Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, ensuring health and safety is a priority.
• Manage stock processes to ensure the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
• Manage effective stock processes through the EPOS operation.

Minimum Essential Criteria

• Customer service experience.
• People management experience (volunteer recruitment, reviews, team meetings).
• KPI and target experience.
• Strong IT skills (admin, email, instant messaging, video calls).
• Organisational skills.
• Lone working experience.

Desirable Criteria

• High street retail or charity retail managerial experience.
• Health and safety knowledge.
• Microsoft Office or equivalent skills.
• Background in high street retail, leisure or hospitality.
• Merchandising and stock rotation experience.
