The roleMake your passion for retail mean more
Are you a passionate retail professional with a flair for menswear, a head for business and a talent for bringing people together? Would you love to lead a shop where great style meets a great cause?
We're looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Shop Manager to lead The Wardrobe, our first dedicated menswear shop in the heart of Worcester.
Offering quality clothing and accessories, The Wardrobe is more than just a shop. It's an opportunity to combine your retail expertise with a meaningful purpose, helping raise vital funds for St Richard's Hospice and supporting patients and their loved ones across Worcestershire.
What you'll be doing
As Shop Manager, you'll take the lead in creating a welcoming, stylish and successful retail environment. You'll have the freedom to bring your ideas to life, inspire your team and make a real impact on the shop's performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving sales and success - achieving income targets, maximising sales and making commercially informed decisions.
- Creating an inspiring shopping experience - designing attractive shop layouts and eye-catching window displays that showcase quality menswear.
- Finding hidden gems - encouraging high-quality stock donations and ensuring clothing and accessories are presented at their best.
- Leading and inspiring people - recruiting, supporting and motivating a team of volunteers to deliver excellent customer service.
- Keeping things running smoothly - overseeing daily operations, stock deliveries and collections, banking and general shop management.
Every sale, every donation and every great customer experience will help us raise the funds needed to provide compassionate hospice care.
About youYou'll be a confident and motivated retail professional who enjoys taking responsibility, developing others and achieving results.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for helping people.
- Significant experience in retail or a customer-focused environment, with team leadership or management experience.
- The ability to motivate, support and work collaboratively with a team of volunteers.
- A commercial mindset, with confidence working with figures, monitoring performance and achieving financial targets.
- Initiative, creativity and an eye for presenting products in an appealing way.
An interest in menswear and familiarity with clothing brands would be an advantage, but it's your enthusiasm, leadership and commercial awareness that matter most.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your retail expertise and leadership skills while doing work that has a positive impact on people's lives.
What we offerYou'll become part of a welcoming, supportive team where your ideas are valued, your development matters and your work makes a genuine difference.
Our benefits include:
- A fantastic team where everyone is welcomed and empowered to give their best.
- Supportive management and opportunities for personal and professional development.
- Benenden Healthcare, including diagnosis and treatment services, 24/7 GP and mental health advice lines, and discounts.
- Opportunities for flexible working.
- Family-friendly policies.
- A free Will-writing service.
We would encourage visits to The Wardrobe to find out more and speak to the team.
