Shift Engineer (Electrical Biased) - Northamptonshire (NN3)

Salary: £55,000 + Overtime

Shift pattern: 12-hour shifts - 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off (work 7 cycles then 18 days off)

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an electrical biased shift engineer due to engineering departmental growth.

Role & Responsibilities

• Electrical & mechanical maintenance, PPMs, and repairs
• Working on a variety of high-speed production & packaging machinery, conveyors, automation & controls, plant machinery and robotics
• Part of a close-knit team that is growing and developing
• Contributing to developing the existing engineering function
• Working with motors, drives, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, and gearboxes
• Project work - new machine installs, upgrades and continuous improvement
• Assisting with developing new PPMs and helping with the asset care management systems

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Must be an electrical biased engineer
• Comfortable working on mechanical or electrical problems / faults
• Positive attitude and willingness to contribute during a redevelopment phase
• Confident, able to work on own initiative, sometimes unsupervised
• Strong communicator, analytical, self-motivated with a can-do attitude
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance engineering position
• Time-served apprenticeship
• Electrical qualifications, NVQ Level 3 or higher
• Experience in fast-paced production environments - FMCG, food, packaging, automation
• Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, automation systems
• Experience in a strongly preventative maintenance environment
