At BJF, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our expanding construction-focused business, supporting our Health and Safety initiatives as a SHEQ Manager.

Our UK-based organization works with a large portfolio of public and private sector clients across various divisions, including Mechanical & Electrical, Construction, Projects, Reactive, FM, Small Works, and other trades.

Position

As a Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Manager, you will be responsible for developing practices within our workplace to ensure health, safety, and environmental standards on-site, ensuring that work is carried out safely. You will also conduct quality control inspections to maintain high standards.

This is a hands-on Health and Safety role, where experience in the construction industry is essential to directly influence how safely and sustainably we operate. It offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity for a Health and Safety professional who thrives in the built environment and aims to lead initiatives from the front line.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Champion health and safety across the company, promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Manage sites on all relevant SHEQ aspects, emphasizing safe working methods and risk reduction systems.
  • Support site management to keep documentation up to date and report issues.
  • Lead and assist managers with external audits to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Provide support on systems such as HandsHQ, MyCompliance, IMS, SharePoint, Peoplesafe, and deliver SHEQ-related training.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Certification or equivalent H&S qualification.
  • A full UK driving license, as travel between sites using a personal vehicle is required.
  • Experience in health and safety, site inspections, and incident reporting.
  • A passion for Safety, Health, and Environment.
