Job Description

ServiceNow ITOM Specialist (CMDB Focus)

Overview
We are seeking an external specialist with deep expertise in ServiceNow ITOM, specifically regarding the implementation and management of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

This mission has an initial duration of two months, with a possibility of extension. The primary focus is to strengthen and structure our CMDB operations from both a technical and process-oriented perspective.

Core Responsibilities

  • CMDB Optimization: Support the accurate, complete, and high-quality onboarding of assets into the CMDB, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Community Facilitation: Strengthen and facilitate CMDB management within the SDM (Service Delivery Management) community.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Implement a "Train-the-Trainer" approach. You will actively transfer skills and knowledge to internal staff to ensure long-term, autonomous, and consistent CMDB management.
  • Strategic Anchor: Move beyond short-term operational fixes to establish structural knowledge building and sustainable governance within the organization.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Expertise

  • ServiceNow Mastery: At least 4 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow and 8 years of general experience in the relevant ICT technologies.
  • CMDB Implementation: Proven track record in designing and configuring a ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Data Modeling: Expert knowledge of CMDB data modelling, CI relationships, and data quality management.
  • Asset Onboarding: Demonstrated experience structuring diverse assets (infrastructure, applications, etc.) within a CMDB.
  • ITIL & Governance: Strong understanding of ITIL principles, specifically Configuration Management.
  • Language: Native or bilingual proficiency in Dutch (CEFR Level C2).

Should-Have (Preferred) Skills

  • ITOM Modules: Experience with specific ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery and Service Mapping.
  • Coaching & Training: Experience in delivering "Train-the-Trainer" sessions and coaching internal teams.
  • Documentation: Ability to create clear guidelines, technical documentation, and training materials.
  • Communication: Capable of translating complex technical subject matter into structured, clear insights for various stakeholders.
