Job Description 3-month contract with a local authority Summary- This is a 3-month contract with a local authority, focusing on leading and overseeing the Quality Assurance function within Children's Social Care. The role is crucial in ensuring robust systems are in place to monitor, evaluate, and improve practice. The postholder will drive continuous improvement through audits, learning, and performance activities, ensuring high standards of safeguarding and service delivery. The position is central to preparing for and responding to Ofsted inspections and embedding learning into frontline practice.
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance framework for Children's Social Care.
- Oversee and deliver monthly practice audits and thematic audits, ensuring they are robust, evidence-based, and outcome-focused.
- Identify key themes, risks, and areas for improvement from audit findings.
- Ensure learning from audits is effectively disseminated and embedded into practice.
- Establish and facilitate forums and mechanisms to "close the loop," ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Significant experience within Children's Social Care, including safeguarding and statutory services.
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance, audit, or inspection roles within a social care setting.
- Experience of leading audits, analysing findings, and driving service improvements.
- Experience of preparing for and supporting Ofsted inspections.
- Demonstrable success in improving practice standards and service outcomes.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
- Recognised professional qualification in Social Work (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent), where applicable.
- Registration with Social Work England (if required).
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Driving license required.
- Location: Civic Campus, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JG, United Kingdom.
- Work pattern: 3 days per week on a bi-weekly schedule.
