Job Description
Service Manager - Supported Accommodation

Location: Somerset

Salary: £36,000 per year

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

You will be expected to work on a mixture of 9am - 5pm, mornings, evenings and possible sleep in's to support the team.

About the Service

We are a high-quality supported accommodation provider, operating across five homes, known for delivering consistent, positive outcomes for young people.

  • Up to 11 young people in registered supported accommodation homes aged 16-25
  • An additional 3-4 young people aged 18+ accommodated within one of our move-on homes, receiving minimal outreach support

We are proud of our reputation for quality, stability, and strong relationships with commissioners and partner agencies.

The Role

As Service Manager, you will be at the heart of the service - supporting the Registered Service Manager, leading staff, and ensuring high standards are consistently delivered across multiple homes.

This is a role where you will:
  • Play a key part in the day-to-day leadership of a multi-site service
  • Support and develop staff to deliver high-quality, consistent care
  • Ensure adequate staffing and support across the service, maintaining safe and effective staffing levels at all times
  • Maintain strong oversight of quality, compliance, and outcomes
  • Be a visible and supportive presence for both staff and young people
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the service

You won't just be managing - you'll be influencing, developing, and helping drive the service forward.

Safeguarding & DSL Responsibilities

You will support the safeguarding function as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), including:

  • Supporting the management of safeguarding concerns and referrals
  • Working alongside the Registered Service Manager and external professionals
  • Providing guidance and reassurance to staff on safeguarding matters
  • Maintaining high-quality, accurate safeguarding records
  • Promoting a strong, proactive safeguarding culture
On-Call & Rota Expectations
  • Participation in a shared management on call rota
  • Providing guidance and support to staff outside of core hours
  • Occasional evening and weekend involvement as required
  • A balanced approach to ensure support is available while maintaining wellbeing
Working With Senior Leadership

You will work closely with the Registered Service Manager (registered with Ofsted) and gain valuable exposure to:

  • Service wide decision making
  • Quality assurance and compliance oversight
  • Staff development and performance management
  • Strategic thinking and service improvement

This is an ideal role for someone looking to progress into more senior leadership in the future.
