Contract Opportunity - Service Designer / User Researcher

Location: London (Hybrid)

Rate: Up to £525/day (Inside IR35)

We're working with a leading consultancy on a long-term public sector transformation programme, and we're looking for a Service Designer / User Researcher hybrid to join the team on a 12-month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-impact government initiative, shaping critical services that affect millions. You'll work in cross-functional teams alongside delivery managers, content designers, and technical architects to design end-to-end services that are user-centred and truly effective.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Conducting in-depth user research to uncover user needs, behaviours, and pain points
• Translating research insights into service design solutions and customer journeys
• Facilitating workshops and co-design sessions with stakeholders and end users
• Producing artefacts such as service blueprints, journey maps, and prototypes
• Supporting agile delivery and iterative development of user-centred services

What We're Looking For:

• Strong experience as a Service Designer, User Researcher, or hybrid across both disciplines
• Comfortable planning and leading user research in government or complex environments
• Able to translate research insights into actionable service design outputs
• Familiar with GDS standards and working in agile multidisciplinary teams
• SC Clearance is highly desirable - or eligibility to obtain it

This role is inside IR35 and requires a presence in the London office part of the week. You'll be joining an experienced, collaborative team with a strong track record in digital transformation.
