Principal Civil Engineer

We're currently recruiting for a Principal Civil Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy delivering projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

12-Month Initial Contract
IR35: TBC

This role will involve leading civil engineering projects from planning through to delivery, managing junior engineers, and working closely with developers, architects, and local authorities. Because apparently infrastructure won't design itself. Inconsiderate, really.

• Lead civil engineering design projects

• Deliver drainage, highways, and infrastructure designs

• Manage S278/S38 schemes

• Review technical drawings and reports

• Mentor and support junior engineers

• Attend client meetings and site visits

• Coordinate project resources and workloads

• Prepare fee proposals and support project delivery

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering

• CEng/IEng status or working towards Chartership

• Strong experience in drainage and highways design

• Experience managing projects and mentoring teams

• Knowledge of SuDS, highways standards, and planning processes

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or similar)

• Strong communication and organisational skills
