Multiple Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineers are required for an international Defence and Weapons Systems company that is expanding its team.
Salary and seniority will depend on your skills and experience.
This position requires full-time on-site presence (4.5 days, 37 hours per week) with paid overtime actively encouraged.
The Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineers will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team, supporting technical changes to existing products (i.e., Defence and Weapons Systems).
This role may suit candidates from the Oil and Gas industry or other safety-critical engineering sectors.
The Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineers will be involved in Mechanical Development, Testing, Trials, and Commissioning, with opportunities to shape the next generation of defence/weapons platforms and future technology.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop design evidence packages to justify safe and effective designs, building customer confidence.
- Specify and assist in building prototypes, products, and systems for testing.
- Provide timely corrective actions for defects and issues.
- Ensure commitments are agreed upon, reviewed, and met.
- Mentor junior engineers on technical matters.
- Deliver technical presentations to technical and management audiences, staying informed on new technical concepts and markets.
- Author or co-author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations as required.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
- Ability to work with technical documentation and present to customers and wider groups.
- Proficiency in solving complex engineering calculations and FEA analysis.
- Experience with the engineering lifecycle.
- Some CAD knowledge, proficiency with MS Office, and comfort with other IT applications.
