The role
As a Senior Welding Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We are a manufacturing facility specializing in high-complexity, low-volume production. As we anticipate unprecedented growth in the coming years, we are seeking a skilled Senior Welding Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the management of our production and supply chain welding activities to meet current and future demands.


Day-to-day, you'll join a diverse and energetic team of production, project, engineering, and other functional staff working together to deliver exciting cutting edge defence projects to UK and international clients.

  • Act as the business point of contact for NDT and work closely with contracted SME in all related activities.
  • Provide awareness and knowledge sharing activities to manufacturing and design Engineers. to ensure understanding of requirements and activities.
  • Lead in the review, assessment and development of new welding processes and technologies and their introduction into manufacture.
  • Responsible for the delivery of welding development projects to budget and schedule.
  • Manage the coordination and delivery of welding engineering tasks and activities.
  • Continued development of the welding engineering team capability and competencies.


This role is full time 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.

Essential experience of the Senior Welding Engineer

  • Practical knowledge of MIG/MAG FCAW, SAW and TIG welding processes.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the weldability of C-Mn, Q&T, stainless steels, and Ni based alloys.
  • Good awareness and knowledge of NDT processes and applications (VT, MT, UT, RT).

Qualifications for the Senior Welding Engineer

  • Hold IWT/EWT status or able to demonstrate working within governance in a similar role.

The successful candidate must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check(SC)security clearance for this role.
