Are you an experienced Transport Planner ready to take the next step into a senior position with greater responsibility, client exposure and project ownership?
We're partnering with a growing multidisciplinary consultancy that has established a strong reputation for delivering high-quality transport planning and infrastructure advice across a wide range of development sectors. With a people-first culture, ambitious growth plans and a collaborative leadership team, this opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in shaping projects while supporting the development of junior colleagues.
Based in the Bristol office, you'll join a dynamic team delivering transport planning solutions for residential, commercial, education, mixed-use and strategic development schemes across the South West and beyond.
As a Senior Transport Planner, you'll take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, acting as a key point of contact for clients, local authorities and project teams. You'll work closely with senior management while helping to develop and mentor less experienced team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
Producing and reviewing Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals and related technical reports
Managing multiple projects and ensuring delivery to programme and budget
Undertaking and reviewing junction capacity assessments and transport modelling outputs
Providing technical input into highway and access design schemes
Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, clients and multidisciplinary project teams
Supporting planning applications and strategic development projects
Attending client meetings, public consultations and stakeholder engagement events
Assisting with business development activities, proposals and fee submissions
Mentoring and supporting Graduate and Transport Planners within the team
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
Several years' experience within a transport planning consultancy environment
A proven track record delivering transport planning projects across sectors including residential, commercial, education and mixed-use developments
Experience preparing and reviewing technical transport planning reports
Strong working knowledge of junction modelling and transport assessment methodologies
Experience engaging with local authorities, clients and wider project stakeholders
A sound understanding of the UK planning system and development process
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and project management abilities
A full UK driving licence
Unrestricted right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
In return, you'll join a consultancy that genuinely invests in its people and provides a supportive environment for long-term career progression, including:
Competitive salary and benefits package
Enhanced annual leave entitlement, including additional leave over the Christmas period and service-related increases
Company pension contribution
Life assurance
Comprehensive wellbeing and employee assistance programme
Cycle-to-work scheme and paid volunteering days
Regular company-wide social and networking events
Ongoing professional development and clear progression opportunities
The opportunity to work closely with highly experienced senior leaders and directors
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Transport Planner seeking greater responsibility, exposure to high-profile development projects and a clear pathway for future progression within a growing consultancy.
