PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £50,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEAs Senior Transport Manager for Northern Ireland, you'll be part of a team that keeps the BBC moving-supporting the creation of world class content seen and heard by millions. As Senior Transport Manager, you'll ensure our diverse fleet stays safe, compliant and ready to support broadcasting across the UK. Your work underpins critical production and newsgathering, helping deliver content that informs, entertains, and connects audiences everywhere.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT- Oversee forward planning and coordination of vehicle maintenance and compliance across transport bases
- Ensure all fleet vehicles-from pool cars to large OB trucks-remain roadworthy, efficient, and cost effective
- Liaise with suppliers to secure timely, high quality, and value driven services
- Act as named Transport Manager on the Operator Licence for relevant traffic areas
- Collaborate with operational leaders to meet changing production and broadcasting requirements
- Strong experience managing statutory compliance within complex or regulated transport environments
- Proven ability to operate strategically while solving operational problems hands on
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to tailor complex information for varied stakeholders
- Experience managing regulated vehicle operating centres and driver hours frameworks
- Demonstrable practical experience ensuring maintenance and roadworthiness of large vehicles
- Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers (Road Haulage) Level 3
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent health & safety qualifications
- Understanding of programme making or newsgathering operational needs
- CE driving licence
- Experience promoting and supporting sustainable transport approaches
