Role Overview

A major Belgian public-sector organisation is seeking Senior Technical Analysts to support large-scale digitalisation and application delivery programmes within a complex, highly regulated environment.

This is a senior, hands-on role for experienced professionals who can translate business needs into robust technical solutions, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with enterprise architecture standards. You will work closely with Agile delivery teams, including architects, developers, testers, service managers, and business stakeholders.

This role requires autonomy, strong technical judgement, and the ability to challenge assumptions constructively.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Functional Analysis

• Analyse, validate, and challenge business requirements

• Translate business needs into clear functional and technical analyses

• Produce sprint-ready user stories and tickets within a 3-week sprint cycle

• Defend and clarify analysis during Agile refinement and delivery ceremonies

Delivery Alignment

• Ensure alignment between business expectations and technical feasibility

• Enable developers and testers through clear, unambiguous specifications

• Define functional and technical acceptance criteria

Documentation

• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation for development and testing teams

• Ensure compliance with interface specifications and enterprise architecture standards

Support & Troubleshooting

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities

• Assist with production incidents and issue resolution

• Analyse root causes and propose pragmatic, effective solutions

Leadership & Coordination

• Coach and support Junior Analysts when required

• Potentially assume coordination or project-level responsibilities depending on project needs

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Professional Experience

• Minimum 10 years proven experience as a Technical Analyst

• Demonstrated experience in complex, enterprise-scale environments

Analysis & Modelling

• Business process modelling

• UML and BPMN

• Functional and technical analysis

• Ability to clearly document current-state and target-state processes

Architecture & Design

• Sequence diagrams

• Synchronous and asynchronous architectures

• API and interface contracts (REST/SOAP)

• Data modelling and strong SQL querying capabilities

Tooling

• Jira, Confluence

• Git

• Postman, SoapUI

• SQL clients

• Browser developer tools

• Modelling and design tools (UML, sequence, data models)

Agile Delivery

• Proven experience in Agile/Scrum environments

• Ability to estimate effort collaboratively

• Solid understanding of testing principles and methodologies

Language Requirements

• Native French or Dutch
