Senior Team Lead Substation Engineer

The Role

As Senior Team Lead Substation Engineer, you will oversee the delivery of substation design projects, leading a multidisciplinary team and ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient project execution across a diverse portfolio.

You'll play a key role in managing design delivery, coordinating stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement across engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a substation design team delivering HV transmission & distribution projects
• Act as Lead Engineer across a portfolio of projects
• Oversee project planning, resourcing, and delivery
• Manage design coordination across internal teams and external partners
• Drive quality assurance, standards implementation, and process improvements
• Provide technical leadership across design, costing, and project execution
• Mentor and develop engineering team members
• Engage with key stakeholders, clients, and delivery partners

What We're Looking For From A Senior Team Lead Substation Engineer

• 7+ years' experience in substation design (HV preferred)
• Strong background in engineering design and project delivery
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Solid understanding of project life cycle (design construction commissioning)
• Experience with EPC/Design & Build delivery models
• Strong commercial awareness (tendering, costing, planning)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Desirable

• Knowledge of PSDP processes
• Pre-commissioning experience
