Senior TAX S/4 Consultant & DA

Our client, a dynamic player in the IT sector, is seeking a Senior TAX S/4 Consultant & DA to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on the implementation and support of SAP FICO, ensuring robust and scalable tax solutions in line with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure delivery of solution design and support end-to-end business processes across Indirect and Direct Taxes
• Capture business requirements and deliver design fit-for-purpose and tested system solutions
• Understand and foresee cross-functional implications of solution decisions
• Deliver forward solution design decisions e.g., KDDs
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and external System Integrators (SIs)
• Manage bespoke work units, including requirements gathering, functional specifications, and testing
• Assist in all stages of testing: Function Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Regression Testing
• Assist in Data Migration and Cutover activities
• Assist in End User training preparation and execution
• Ensure that scope is kept under control

Impact on the Organisation:

• Enable a successful S/4HANA transition by ensuring robust, scalable, and integrated processes and solutions for both indirect and direct taxes and tax compliance
• Define and validate tax-related data requirements aligned with SAP S/4HANA best practices
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Data Migration teams, and Technical Leads to translate tax business requirements into scalable, compliant S/4HANA solutions
• Reduce delivery risk through proactive issue identification, scope control, and structured solution governance

Core Relationships:

• Internal - Business Process Leads, IT Solution Architects, Data & Testing Teams, Adjacent Workstreams (Finance, Marketing, Ops, MDM)
• External - System Integrators, SAP and others

Geographic Scope:

• Global

Travel Required:

• 3 days a week in London

Job Requirements:

• Experience with hands on implementation of SAP S/4HANA within Indirect and Direct Tax areas
• Proven ability to work with external consultants/System Integrators
• Background in large-scale ERP transformation programmes
• Proven stakeholder management and the ability to influence cross functional decisions
• Core TAX SAP S/4 processes and tax compliance enablement knowledge
• Understanding of excise regimes, taxation systems and solution integration
• Strong documentation, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of SAP testing cycles and methodologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• SAP S/4HANA certification (preferred but not mandatory)

Beneficial:
