Senior System Engineer

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Remote Work Possibility: 80% (Monday to Thursday - 4 days/week, on-site)

Type of Contract: Permanent Contract preferably

Mandatory Languages: English and French (C1 minimum); Dutch is a plus

Eligibility: Only candidates residing in an EU country can be considered (no work permit procedures possible).

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior System Engineer to strengthen the IT team responsible for managing and evolving the internal IT infrastructure and contributing to various technical projects (e.g., Microsoft Teams telephony and Windows 11 migration). You will work in a small technical team and act as a key reference point for system technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and improve Windows Server systems (Active Directory, RDS, Certification Authority).
• Manage virtual environments (VMware ESXi, vCenter) and storage solutions (SAN).
• Oversee backup systems and disaster recovery plans (VEEAM).
• Act as technical lead for the migration to Microsoft Teams telephony.
• Deploy, maintain, and enhance Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Manage user devices via Intune & Autopilot, including Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
• Supervise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewall, VPN).
• Migrate and administer voice services through Microsoft Teams Voice.
• Stay up to date with technology trends and recommend relevant improvements.
• Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement of IT procedures.

Profile:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar system engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments, virtualization, and network infrastructure.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and telephony integration (Teams Voice).
• Fluent in French or English.
• Motivated, autonomous, and comfortable in dynamic public sector environments.
