Senior Structural Engineer

Waterman Building Structures busy Bristol office is seeking to recruit a near Chartered or Chartered Engineer to the position of Senior Structural Engineer.

Working as part of an established and collaborative Structures team, you will play a key role in the design, inspection, and assessment of a wide range of structural materials and forms across multiple sectors. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design, inspection, and assessment work across a variety of projects
• Work across multiple sectors including Retail, Industrial, Residential, Telecommunications, Technology, and Leisure
• Take responsibility for the day to day delivery of projects, ensuring quality, budget, and programme targets are achieved
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop effective and innovative solutions
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and technical reports
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Contribute to project planning, resource allocation, and financial management

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Near Chartered or Chartered (ICE or IStructE)
• Minimum of five years' experience in a structural engineering consultancy
• Experience in the design, inspection, and assessment of a variety of structural materials and forms
• Ability to manage multiple projects and clients effectively
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving
• Ambition to develop leadership, client facing, and project management skills

Development & Progression

With mentoring from the Regional Director, you will quickly develop your time management and client facing capabilities while taking increasing responsibility for project delivery. You will also gain exposure to team management, mentoring of junior staff, and financial aspects of project and team performance.
