Senior Structural Engineer

Optimus Plus are now looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team on a full-time long-term contract basis. This role can be based in our office in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a flexible hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely.

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, ideally in brownfield projects and the North Sea sector. Familiarity with STAAD Pro and hand-calculations / MathCAD is mandatory, though knowledge of other industry-wide software such as SESAM GeniE would be preferred but not essential.

Suitable candidate's will have significant structural design experience working in the offshore oil and gas industry and in particular in brownfield projects. Any knowledge of the North Sea assets, Asset Integrity Management, life extension studies or decommissioning would be beneficial.

Key Duties:

• Identify the scope of work required
• Input to project plans and schedules.
• Identify areas of concern during any project or study.
• Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
• Undertake Surveys, both onshore and offshore
• Supervise the time of others

The ideal candidate would have 5-10 years of structural design experience working in the offshore oil and gas industry and in particular in brownfield projects. Knowledge of the North Sea assets, Asset Integrity Management, life extension studies or decommissioning would be preferred.

We'd like you to have a degree in a relevant subject and significant previous experience in detail design with an understanding of other disciplines. You need to have some experience and an interest in working with AutoDesk products.
