Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Discipline Engineering team in Aberdeen. The Senior Structural Engineerwill deliver engineering assignments and projects by applying advanced engineering principles, professional judgement, and the selection and adaptation of appropriate engineering solutions.

Reports to

Pipeline and Structure Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards
  • Design of seafastening steelwork for structures
  • Review/identify/design of vessel underdeck strengthening
  • Structural design in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. DNV, Lloyds, AISC, API) & Client Specifications
  • Analysis/Design of lift & installation of modules & installation aids
  • Detail design of subsea architecture and permanent structures (SSIV, PLEM, Subsea Manifold, etc.)
  • Analysis and Engineering/Design using engineering software such as STAAD.Pro/SACS/Mathcad
  • Familiar with FEA software such as Abaqus and Ansys
  • Liaise with Engineers/Designers in the preparation of CAD drawings
  • Liaise with other discipline members on design, construction and fabrication
  • Preparation of internal structural technical notes/reports
  • Liaise with Approval authorities, attend and coordinate mobilisations
  • Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes
  • Preparation of CTR for tenders
  • Undertake offshore surveys on platforms and third-party vessels
  • Demonstrate adherence to the PDi Quality Management System
  • Comply with PDi HSEQ policies and procedures

Required Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of the design principles of structural engineering
  • Knowledge of design software used for structural design and analysis
  • Good communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to focus on customer requirements
  • Highly motivated and self-reliant
  • Commitment to safe working procedures and methods
Qualifications
  • University degree level in relevant engineering discipline (Structural, Mechanical, Naval Architecture)
  • Charted Engineer is desirable
