Senior Strategist (Media)

Rickmansworth (Hybrid)

Up to £80,000 + profit share Full-time

A fast-growing, full-service agency is looking for a Senior Strategist (Media) to play a central role in shaping its strategic thinking, client growth and future direction.

This is not a backroom planning role. You'll be a senior, client-facing strategic leader, influencing major accounts, driving new business and helping define the frameworks, thinking and products that set the agency apart.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity for someone who wants commercial impact, visibility with senior stakeholders and a clear pathway toward senior leadership.

You'll sit at the heart of the agency, leading strategic thinking across key client relationships and new business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic direction across major accounts, defining segmentation, targeting and positioning
  • Shape client problems and briefs before they reach creative or media teams
  • Build the strategic architecture behind integrated campaigns and long-term growth programmes
  • Turn complex research, performance data and market insight into clear, commercially actionable recommendations
  • Deliver advanced audience analysis, including behavioural insight, personas and journey frameworks
  • Apply data-led thinking such as propensity modelling and performance analysis to guide investment decisions
  • Lead monthly and quarterly strategic sessions with senior client stakeholders
  • Identify growth opportunities, risks and emerging market trends
  • Play a key role in pitches, developing compelling and differentiated strategic narratives
  • Contribute to the evolution of proprietary tools, insight frameworks and AI-enabled approaches
  • Help strengthen the agency's strategic positioning and thought leadership
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading strategy in an agency or complex in-house environment
  • Strong understanding of audience behaviour, decision-making and segmentation methodologies
  • Experience developing personas, customer journeys and full-funnel content/channel strategies
  • Comfortable working with performance data, effectiveness metrics and attribution thinking
  • Commercially minded, able to connect insight to business outcomes
  • Credible and confident with senior stakeholders
  • Ambitious, proactive and motivated by growth and leadership opportunity
  • Experience in Higher Education, youth audiences or complex B2B environments would be advantageous.
