Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Fixed-term (12 months), Full-time

Our client is a purpose-driven charity dedicated to supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. By transforming empty housing into safe, welcoming homes and providing holistic support services, the organisation helps individuals rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.

They are seeking a Senior Specialist Support Worker to provide maternity cover for a 12-month period. This role will lead a specialist support service, working directly with beneficiaries while managing a small team and contributing to service development across London.

This is an impactful opportunity for an experienced support professional passionate about trauma-informed care and social change.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a specialist support service for individuals affected by domestic abuse
  • Provide tailored, one-to-one support to beneficiaries with complex needs
  • Supervise and support a small team of support staff
  • Facilitate group sessions to reduce social isolation and build community
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a holistic, trauma-informed service
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of services across London
  • Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, and best practice standards are upheld
Requirements
  • Proven experience supporting vulnerable individuals with complex and diverse needs
  • Strong understanding of the impact of domestic abuse, deprivation, and systemic inequality
  • Experience managing or supervising staff or volunteers
  • Ability to deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with multi-agency partnerships or referral networks
