D-NETWORK is looking for a permanent Senior Software Product Owner/ Business Analyst
for a customer based in Mechelen.
Fluent in English with minimum 5 years of experience in a similar function.
An expertise in the medical device or healthcare industry sector is a big plus.
Contract in CDI/ Permanent role/ Employee (no freelancer for this opportunity).
Position Overview / Purpose:
The Software Product Owner and Business Analyst is a key role in the R&D Customer Software space and is responsible for ensuring the output of high-quality, well thought out applications within the R&D product portfolio.
The role will work closely with the teams across Customer Software, R&D System, and Information Technology to ensure that R&D Customer Software makes the best product we can; meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers.
The Software Product Owner and Business Analyst will be responsible for managing and optimizing the product backlog to maximize the value of the product, breaking down user stories and system requirements into functional designs and define the software requirements to support the technical and marketing needs, ensuring requirements are testable and support a state-of-the-art design, that deliver value to the business.
Responsibilities will require the role to:
- Define User Stories and maintain Product Backlog to align with the product vision and goals, and continuously refining it based on feedback and changing business needs.
- Prioritize and order the product backlog in the right manner so that the important tasks are given topmost priority.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies.
- Analyse user needs and system requirements and from them derive and define (cross-) functional designs and software requirements.
- Contribute to the product conceptualisation and take ownership for specific feature designs at system and software subsystem level up to the delivery, challenging status quos and optimising designs.
- Participate in the evaluation of new or changed technology solutions to determine the degree of functional fit with our company current and desired target business processes.
- Provide product support for internal (system engineers, product owners, delivery managers) and external (customers) stakeholders.
- Take ownership of the functional designs and requirements for the product.
Product Owner
- Be product owner of one or more software project(s) and ensure that the projects deliver a coherent, successful system.
- Ensure that trade-offs between projects aim for an optimum outcome.
- Take ownership of overall functional designs of features required on selected projects and involve relevant cross functional stakeholders at various stages of the design and development to ensure designs fit in system wide.
- Participate to local site processes, such as the C&RP management team, project review meetings and audits.
- Define product requirements in cooperation with marketing and clinical department (Spec review meeting participation).
- Write, maintain and coordinate technical documentation (including Software Requirements Specifications) of the component or subproject.
- Translate requirements into necessary activities to make a software system that fully meets these requirements.
- Make sure the project and the team follow the adequate processes according to regulatory needs.
- Strengthen of our company IP portfolio by participating in the submission of invention disclosures.
- Keep well informed about latest technology developments and competitor activities to ensure the team and R&D continue to adopt best practices and remain technological leaders
Business Analyst
- Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement and work with delivery team to design, develop and implement the right solutions.
- Use modelling toolsets and techniques to analyse and define requirements by decomposing work to deliver value.
- Articulate cost, budget, solution requirements and required integration across existing and/or proposed applications, systems, and platforms to contribute to the Business Outcome Document (business case).
- Map and align initiatives to our company persistent story maps to improve understanding of the changes, participating in prioritisation events with necessary team(s) and assure the agreed upon value is delivered to the organization throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Stay up to date on industry best practice as it relates to the practise of business analysis and recommend advancements for continuous improvement.
- Champion and drive long lived design detail documentation for the product and the team, so that we share knowledge across the team and assist with new starters joining.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience.
- 4 to 5 years of experience working in a mix of technology platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending new solutions.
- Strong business analysis background, with an ability to focus on the most important facts and identify dependencies.

- Excellent knowledge of technical English.
