Join our dynamic Messaging Team and play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining innovative messaging channels that enhance customer interactions worldwide. About the Role: As a Senior Software Engineer on the Messaging team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable messaging solutions within Genesys Cloud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust features, ensure high-quality code, and drive improvements in our messaging platform. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with team members, product managers, and architects to define feature requirements and service design. Design systems with attention to detail, ensuring resiliency while managing complexity. Analyze requirements for completeness and assess potential impacts on services and users. Drive end-to-end delivery, from design and implementation to deployment, through careful planning. Thoroughly test developments using unit, integration, and automated testing. Demonstrate a strong understanding of business requirements and deliver solutions within established timelines. Actively participate in code reviews, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Maintain effective communication within and outside the team, sharing ideas, progress, and providing clarity. Monitor services for scalability, security vulnerabilities, and unexpected failures. Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure service reliability and prompt incident response. What you will bring to the role: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related work experience. Excellent programming skills, particularly in Java. Experience with TypeScript. 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering. Working experience with REST API back-end services Expert-level understanding of object-oriented programming & design. Proactive, self-driven, and possessing a growth mindset. Effective verbal and written communicator Strong collaboration and listening skills Nice-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, SQS, DynamoDB, and Lambdas. Understanding of microservice design principles. Experience with Spring Boot.
