Job Description
Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world's hardest problems. The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously! We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google and IBM, and we are growing rapidly after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology. Currently 100+ team members, including physicists, PhD students, engineers, and experienced business professionals, are united in our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future! The Framework team is a central resource, working across the organization with researchers and technicians, and is integrated into our workflows. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will contribute to our core products, drive innovation, and build in-house software that controls hardware equipment and experiments. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions. Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and test software components used for scientific development.
  • Support other teams by providing software best practices and tools.
  • Design, present, and deploy innovative software components to enhance efficiency and automate critical workflows.
  • Manage code repositories, version control, and oversee software deployment to ensure stable versions are available to scientists.
  • Collaborate effectively with quantum scientists, researchers, and cross-functional colleagues.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong experience with industrial/commercial Python.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and developers.
  • Experience with continuous testing approaches and product development is a plus.
  • Experience with automation frameworks is a plus.
  • Interest in embedded software is a plus.
Benefits:
  • 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
  • Coverage of half transportation costs or yearly bicycle allowance
  • Competitive health benefits with Helium/AXA
  • Meal vouchers with Swile and access to a fully-equipped kitchen
  • Parental benefits with crèche support
  • Flexible remote work policy, up to 40% per month
  • Mental health support via moka.care
  • Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club
Recruitment Process:
  • Screening Call (45 min)
  • Hiring Manager Interview with Lucas (45 min)
  • Technical Interview with the Team (60 min)
  • Fit Interview (45 min)
  • Founders/C-level Interview (30 min)
  • Reference check
Research shows that women might feel hesitant to apply if they don't match 100% of the listed requirements. This list is a guide, and we encourage applications even if you meet only some criteria. We aim to build innovative teams, not just check boxes. You will join one of France's most innovative startups at an early stage, becoming part of a passionate, friendly team dedicated to building the first universal quantum computer! We foster sharing and learning, providing space for innovation, idea development, and personal growth.
