The Professional Information Business Engineering Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Barcelona, who will manage the development, integration, support and maintenance of content processing and editorial applications and ensure that they follow established software development lifecycle best practices . We are looking for creative and passionate engineers who want to be hands-on, design, implement and own code all the way through deployment and in production.
You Will:
- Play an essential role in all stages of the product life cycle, take ownership and have the initiative for building new software and ensure existing is functioning
- Handle the entire software development life cycle, end to end
- Lead technical discussions and lead technical decisions covering their responsibilities
- Understand and practice Agile software development and management
- Build rigorous load, stress and performance unit tests before deploying software
- Join a functional, collaborative fun, team
- Work with the latest technologies
You Have:
- At least 3 years designing, developing, and deploying backend applications
- .Net Framework with C# in building robust applications including asynchronous programming, queuing, caching, logging, xml/json serialisation and security
- Troubleshooting middle-tier and database applications
- Experience with SQL Server with T-SQL and stored procedures, focusing on transactions, ACID compliance, data normalisation, and query optimisation
- Competent in data access from .NET using ORM (Entity Framework or Dapper) and direct queries
- Proficiency writing unit, functional, performance, soak, and stress tests
- Familiarity or interest in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Chef)
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes and AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of designing RESTful JSON APIs
