A supportive education setting in Harrow is looking for an experienced SEND Progression Lead to join its team from January.
You'll play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to education while gaining broader experience that can support your own progression within SEND, pastoral support or education leadership.
Become a More Specialist Practitioner The Young People You Support May Have Needs Including- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Learning Difficulties
- Communication Needs
- Sensory Needs
- Emotional Regulation Difficulties
Your role isn't simply to provide additional help.
It's to understand why a pupil is finding something difficult and help identify approaches that enable them to participate more successfully.
You'll Have Opportunities To- Provide targeted individual and small-group support.
- Deliver and develop SEND interventions.
- Support pupils working towards EHCP and individual outcomes.
- Identify barriers affecting learning, engagement and participation.
- Adapt strategies around individual communication and learning needs.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Help pupils develop greater confidence and independence.
- Monitor progress and recognise when an approach needs adapting.
- Contribute observations and ideas to pupil-support planning.
- Work closely with teachers, SEND staff and other professionals.
- Develop your understanding of inclusive and specialist practice.
- Take greater ownership of the support you provide.
Your next position should give you something you didn't have before.
That might be greater experience of EHCPs and personalised provision.
It could be delivering interventions, developing behaviour-support strategies or working more closely with a SENCO.
Perhaps you want greater exposure to SEMH, autism, pastoral support or complex learning needs.

What Will You Bring?We're looking for someone with relevant experience supporting children or young people within education, SEND, alternative provision, pastoral support or a related setting.
You'll Ideally Be Someone Who- Has already developed a strong foundation of SEND experience.
- Wants greater responsibility and professional development.
- Can build positive relationships without losing professional boundaries.
- Remains consistent when young people are struggling.
- Thinks about what sits behind behaviour rather than simply reacting to it.
- Communicates confidently with colleagues and other professionals.
- Is comfortable contributing observations and ideas.
- Wants to keep learning and developing professionally.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.
